Description
Aged in old oak to allow the honest expression of our fruit. A structured, elegant wine with notes of raspberries, ripe red fruits and soft tannins.
We carefully grow and handpick our organic Pinot Noir grapes on our steep slopes of our Port Hills vineyard in Christchurch. Our winemakers use minimal intervention in the wine-making process to allow the fruit and terroir to fully express itself. We use natural wild yeasts to ferment our wine, with minimal sulphites at bottling. This wine is vegan.
Our home Vineyard is located on the north west facing slopes of the Christchurch Port Hills. It enjoys long sun-filled days during the growing season. The evenings are cooled by the prevailing sea wind from the east. This lengthens the time before harvest and generates more intensity in the grapes. The weathered volcanic clay soils deliver a minerality that contributes to the unique flavour of the wines from our Home Vineyard. Our Pinot Noir vines were first planted over two decades ago and produce beautiful clean fruit with great acidity.
